A Day at Walt Disney World: EPCOT

This is my first blog post! In this post, I will guide you through the first day of my holiday, including sunrises, EPCOT, souvenirs, and delicious Disney food!

In September I went on holiday to Orlando and Miami in Florida. When I was in Orlando my day would often start early and being a keen photographer it was the perfect opportunity to capture the beautiful Florida sunrises. Of course, it wouldn't be a proper trip to Orlando without going to all of the theme parks! The holiday began with a trip to Walt Disney World's EPCOT. It was my first time going to Disney World, so words don't begin to express how excited I was.

With our plan in hand, we walked straight over to World Discovery to do Mission: SPACE and then onto Test Track. It was there I bought my first souvenir of the trip - a Winnie the Pooh key ring. We walked over to World Nature to go to Soarin' Around the World and then we sat in a boat for Living with the Land - I think this was one of my favorite rides of the day. After taking a wander through the oceans at SeaBase, we finished off our nature adventure at a Turtle Talk with Crush.

The main attraction at EPCOT is of course the World Showcase, made up of 11 countries along the way, it is easy to get lost in enjoying the buildings and attractions which surround the big lake in the center of EPCOT. The first stop was Mexico, entering the temple you are surrounded by market stalls and an evening atmosphere. We take a trip on the Gran Fiesta Tour to see the sights of Mexico and see the Three Caballeros. On to Norway, we learn a bit about Viking gods and board a Viking ship in Frozen Ever After seeing all of the Frozen Characters and plenty of songs.

At The American Adventure, we stop for some lunch. I tick one thing off of my bucket list of Disney eats, the huge turkey legs, it was delicious. After that as I was quite full so we decided to slow things down and see our first show of the trip, 'The American Adventure.' This show takes you through the history, future, and events of America with the use of music, film, and animatronics.

We work our way over to France to ride Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, one of the newest rides added to the park. This ride is another of my favourites, you sit in a rat with 3D glasses on and get taken on a trip through kitchens, store cupboards, and tunnels from a rat's point of view. France was my favorite country of the day, there was a little fountain decorated with rats and the water was coming out of champagne bottles.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was one of the attractions I was looking forward to most out of all the Disney parks and oh my did it deliver. It was a combination of a show setting the scene and then finishing off with a fantastic roller coaster complete with the music we would expect from Guardians of the Galaxy, not to give too much away!

While queueing for the ride I saw some really cool models and costumes such as the Nova Corps Uniforms. As well as various screens with characters (Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot) talking as we waited. I finished off a great day at EPCOT  buying a Groot Faux Plant Pot, something to put on my desk as a little reminder of my first Disney World park visit.
